How to Dress for Interschools
We have together some guidelines on How to Dress for Interschools in relation to the new clothing rule that was introduced this season.
Race suits are ONLY allowed in Alpine and Snowboard GS (Divisions 1-5 only). No race suits are allowed in Division 6. When race suits are not worn on the course the following clothing rule applies for Alpine, Skier Cross, Moguls, Snowboard GS, Snowboard Cross and Slopestyle:
Competitors must wear either a snowsports jacket and pants, or soft-shell jacket and pants, when competing on course. Outerwear such as hoodies, long sleeve shirts, school jerseys and track-suit pants will not be permitted on-course when competing and/or training.
FURTHER EXPLANATION ON CLOTHING RULE
Correct Technical Jackets are classified as suitable outer layer jackets for skiing and snowboarding. For example a snowsports jacket and tough soft shell jackets.
Outer jacket layers should be waterproof, windproof, breathable, durable and tough.
- Ski Jacket
- Snowboard Jacket
- Tough Soft Shell – lined
- Padded Down Jacket
- Lightweight puffy jackets and soft shells not lined (suitable as a mid-layer and not outer layer).
- Rain coat (with no jacket underneath)
- Polar Fleece
- Other Cotton jumpers/jackets
If in doubt, please visit our Interschools Race Office during an event with your jacket so that we can advise you before you head to your course.
